Announcement
from The Presbyterian Coalition:
Schlossberg to retire as Executive Director:
Search Committee seeks applicants
February 8, 2008
Elder Terry Schlossberg, has announced her intent to retire as Executive
Director of the Presbyterian Coalition. Terry has brought strong, visionary
leadership to the Coalition as its first full-time Executive Director.
During her tenure she helped guide the direction of the Coalition, spearheading
such work as the Plan for Reformation that emerged out of the Coalition’s
Gathering in 2007. Terry has strengthened the Coalition’s ties with
renewal partners across the church, building coalitions with those whose
passion is for the renewal of the PCUSA. Behind the scenes, Terry has
helped to create teams to answer disciplinary cases, prepare for General
Assembly, and work pro-actively toward a new day in the PCUSA. Her unflinching
reformed, evangelical convictions, combined with her keen understanding
of the PCUSA, have made Terry a valuable resource for many trying to find
a way to navigate the troubled waters of the PCUSA. Terry will continue
to lead the Coalition as we head into the General Assembly this summer.
The Board of the Presbyterian Coalition has begun its search for the next
Executive Director. This position is full time with flexible location.
A job description is available upon request. All inquiries should be made
to Rev. Anita Bell at anitambell@aol.com.

for Examination of Candidates
Presbyteries
and Sessions that have adopted statements of intent to comply with Book
of Order requirements for ordination.
Language
suggested by renewal organizations:
In
its discernment of the essentials of Reformed polity and for the sake
of the peace, unity, and purity of the church, this governing body
adopts the principle that compliance with the standards for ordination
adopted by the whole church in the Book of Order is an essential of
Reformed polity. Therefore, any departure from the standards for ordination
expressed in the Book of Order will bar a candidate from ordination
and/or installation by this governing body. Provisions of the Book
of Order are signified as being standards by use of the term "shall,"
"is/are to be," “requirement,” or equivalent
expression.
(Please let us know
if your presbytery adopts such a statement.)
